In just three months, the Krum ISD Education Foundation has raised more than $187,000 through their Founding Donors Campaign. The success of the Founding Donors Kickoff Dinner on Sept. 27 brought in more than $14,000 to the Foundation alone.
Currently, Foundation volunteers are working to raise $63,000 by the end of the Founding Donors Campaign to reach their goal of $250,000. The campaign draws to a close on Dec. 31.
“The Krum ISD Education Foundation's mission is to bring stakeholders together to financially support exceptional educational experiences,” said Daryl Real, the Foundation’s board secretary and fundraising committee chair. “I challenge the community to invest in Krum’s greatest commodity – our students.”
Several student groups are taking on this donation challenge, including the Krum High School Class of 2015, the Krum FFA and the KHS 2014-2015 varsity football team. Countless individuals, groups, and businesses within the Krum community have also taken the challenge to donate to the Foundation.
From now until Dec. 31, those who give $100 or more to the Foundation will be recognized for their gift permanently on a monument that will be erected in 2016 in front of the Krum Performing Arts Center. Donors’ names will be displayed on the monument. Participants also will be recognized on the Foundation’s Facebook page and website.
“This is a one-time opportunity to be a part of the Founding Donors Campaign,” said Real. “Donors will have the chance be a part of something that will effect student and educator success for years to come. These funds will create opportunities for achievement in a classroom, at a campus, and within the district that are invaluable.”
The Foundation seeks to distribute funds to instructional staff, instructional teams, campuses and the district through grants. Grant recipients will be notified in June 2015.
