Supporting Education by Supporting Teachers

On May 24, 2019, the Foundation awarded three KEF Teacher Scholarships to educators in Krum Independent School District at the KISD End-of-Year Employee Assembly. KEF Board Members Stacy McDaniel, Bret McDaniel, and Dan Reed presented the awards to each recipient.

Mrs. Amanda Millican received a scholarship in the amount of $1,395 to attend the Texas A&M Benz School of Floral Design. Mrs. Millican currently teaches courses in this subject area at Krum High School, and this program will enable her students the opportunity to obtain industry certification.

Mrs. Dawn Schertz received a scholarship in the amount of $1,444 to continue her work towards a Masters Degree in Reading Education and her Reading Specialist Certification. Mrs. Schertz currently teaches at Hattie Dyer Elementary.

Mrs. Jennifer Kragh received a scholarship in the amount of $1,500 to continue in her pursuit of her Masters of Special Education and Diagnostician Certification. Mrs. Kragh currently teaches at Blanche Dodd Elementary.

Introduced in fiscal year 2017, the KEF Teacher Scholarship program provides funds to support educators in advancing their value to the District through training, certification, and higher education. The Foundation may award up to $1,500 per educator per year.
