Katrinia McBride grew up in a rural, farming community in north Texas. As a small girl, Dr. McBride had decided that no matter the cost she was going to be a dentist when she grew up.

 

Graduating as valedictorian, Dr. McBride was the recipient of numerous scholarships and grants that helped fund her undergraduate degree.

 

Dr. McBride attended Texas Women's University where she obtained her degree in biology. Afterwards, she enrolled at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio where she completed her doctorate in dental surgery.

 

Having been the beneficiary of multiple scholarships, Dr. McBride knows how important every dollar can be to a family of a graduating senior. It was with this in mind that Dr. McBride established an endowment with the Krum ISD Education Foundation to provide a scholarship to a graduating senior looking to pursue a career in a recognized health science field.

It is her hope that through the McBride Health Science Scholarship, Dr. McBride is helping to move forward the education of a future health care provider.
