Executive Director

The Executive Director is the key management leader of the Krum ISD Education Foundation (KEF). The Executive Director is responsible for overseeing the administration, programs, and strategic plan of the organization. Other key duties include fundraising, marketing, and community outreach. The Executive Director reports directly to the Board of Directors.

 

 

General Responsibilities:

 

​1) Board Governance: Works with the board to fulfill the organization's mission.

  • Responsible for leading the Krum ISD Education Foundation in a manner that supports and guides the organization's mission as defined by the Board of Directors.

  • Responsible for communicating effectively with the board and providing in a timely and accurate manner, all information necessary for the board to function properly and to make informed decisions.

 

2) Financial Performance and Viability: Develops resources sufficient to ensure the financial health of the organization.​

  • Responsible for fundraising and developing other revenues necessary to support the Foundation's mission.

  • Responsible for the fiscal integrity of the Foundation, to include submission to the board of a proposed annual budget, ensures maximum resource utilization, and maintenance of the organization in a positive financial position.

  • Responsible for working with the investment management firm to monitor investment portfolio health and growth.

3) Organization Mission and Strategy: Works with the board and staff to ensure that the mission is fulfilled through programs, strategic planning, and community outreach.

  • Responsible for implementation of the Foundation's programs that carry out the organizations mission.

  • Responsible for strategic planning to ensure that the Foundation can successfully fulfill its mission into the future.

  • Responsible for the enhancement of the Foundation's image by being active and visible in the community and by working closely with other professional, civic, and private organizations.

4) Organization Operations: Oversees and implements appropriate resources to ensure that the operations of the organization are appropriate.

  • Responsible for the hiring and retention of competent, qualified staff.

  • Responsible for the effective administration of the Foundation's operations.

  • Responsible for signing all notes, agreements, and other instruments made and entered into on behalf of the Foundation.

Actual Job Responsibilities:

  • Report to and work closely with the Board of Directors to seek their involvement in policy decisions, fundraising, and to increase the overall visibility of the Foundation.

  • Work remotely and in the office while attending all committee meetings, board meetings, and Foundation functions in person.

  • Supervise and collaborate with the Foundation's staff.

  • Strategic planning and implementation.

  • Planning and operation of the annual budget.

  • Serve as the Foundation's primary spokesperson to the Foundation's constituents, the media, and the general public.

  • Establish and maintain relationships with various organizations and utilize those relationships to strategically enhance the Foundation's mission.

  • Engage in fundraising and developing other revenues.

  • Oversee marketing and other communication efforts.

  • Oversee organization of board and other committee meetings.

  • Establishing employment and administrative policies and procedures for all functions and for the day to day operations of the Foundation.

  • Review and approve contracts for services within budgeted line items.

  • Other duties as assigned by the Board of Directors.

 

Professional Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Candidates must pass in-depth background check.

  • Transparent and high integrity leadership.

  • High level strategic thinking and planning. Ability to envision and convey the Foundation's strategic future to the staff, board, volunteers, and donors.

  • Demonstrated ability to oversee and collaborate with staff and volunteers.

  • Demonstrated self-starter.

  • Solid organizational abilities including planning, delegating, program development, and task facilitation.

  • Strong financial management skills, including budget preparation, analysis, decision making, and reporting.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills.

  • Strong public speaking ability.

  • Strong work ethic with a high degree of energy.

  • Average of thirty hours per week (hours fluctuate based on time of year).

  • Minimum age 21.

Additional Information

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, Adobe Suite including Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, and PDF is preferred.

  • Formal performance review will be conducted 90 days after hire. Thereafter, informal quarterly and formal annual performance reviews will be conducted. Schedule may be amended by the Board of Directors as needed.

  • All performance review will be conducted by the persons in the roles of Chairman, Treasurer, and KISD Liaison.

  • Performance review criteria will align to documented job responsibilities and measurable objectives.
