Fundraising at Its Finest: 2018 Fall Gala

On November 30th, 2018, over 300 members of the Krum Community gathered at Chapel Creek Ranch in support of Krum ISD Education Foundation at their annual Fall Gala. The night began with a BBQ dinner, courtesy of Mudd’s Good Eatin’, served by some familiar Krum ISD faces.

After dinner and deserts provided by Stiletto Kitchen, our 300 guests enjoyed drinks while bidding on over 100 silent auction items donated by businesses from all across North Texas and the nation. Auction items ranged in size and

style from t-shirts and gift baskets to custom made benches and works of art. The silent auction was made possible with the use of OneCause, formally known as BidPal, an online auction app that enabled bidders to participate whether they were at the event or at home trying to win What-a-Burger for a year!

This year’s Live Auction hosted a variety of stellar items, including ten one-day park hopper passes to Disney World and a custom bench made by the Alexander family and signed by Hattie Dyer Elementary students.

While the silent auction was taking place, guests enjoyed entertainment, dancing, and fun provided by Pete’s Dueling Pianos. This was the second consecutive year that Fall Gala entertainment was provided by Pete’s Dueling Pianos, and it is safe to say they were a huge hit.

With the support of our patrons, we raised record-breaking funds for the second straight year- with over $55,000 raised to be put straight back into the schools and students of Krum ISD. These funds support teachers and students in various forms. Student enrichment grants provide support for dual credit, STEM camps, and other educational

opportunities. Teacher scholarship grants support teachers in furthering their education, and technology and instructional grants to fund special equipment and programs for the classroom. KEF also supports Bobcats by offering four scholarships to graduating KHS Seniors to help fund their higher education. Two of these scholarships are new this year - the KEF Scholarship and the newly endowed McBride Health Sciences Scholarship.

It is through fundraisers like the annual Fall Gala that KEF is able to provide these opportunities to our students and teachers.

We would like to thank all our participants of the evening, donors, and vendors for their continued unwavering support of Krum ISD Education Foundation and Krum ISD educators, students, and staff. Thank you also to our event partners: Mudd’s Good Eatin’, Stilleto Kitchen, Jordan Blalock Photography, and MillerCoors.
