Some students have a lot of energy. For some of these students, all this energy makes it hard to sit and focus on their work. Through a grant from the Krum ISD Education Foundation, students in Mrs. Middleton’s class at Blanche Dodd Intermediate have the option of flexible seating arrangements. They can choose between stand up desks, exercise balls, cushions, and chair bands. Mrs. Middleton says every student is different, and some seats and desks work better than others depending on the child. Since implementing these seating options for her students, she says she has seen a drastic decline in fidgeting. Students being more comfortable has made them more attentive, efficient pupils.
